The Memminger Roadster 2.7 is a concept car created and proposed by the Memminger Feine-Cabrios company, who decided to build it taking inspiration from the charisma of the original Volkswagen Type 1 , mixed with the technical solutions of contemporary Porsches , instead of using carbon fiber .

The Memminger Feine-Cabrios company specializes in classic Beetles -Beetles- , since the founder of the brand Georg Memming began to restore them in 1992.  His restorations cost thousands of dollars, so it would not be strange that the price of this car hits six figures. 

In terms of aesthetics, it has a rather aggressive image with a very retro inspiration and some chrome components. At the rear stands out a small spoiler. 

Technically, it has a 2.7-liter air-cooled 4- cylinder boxer engine in a central position, which is inspired by the Type 4 mounted on the Volkswagen 411 and 412, capable of generating 210 HP (154 kilowatts) and 247 Nm (25, 2 kgm; 182 lb-ft) of torque, mated to a five-speed manual transmission . The wheelbase had to be lengthened to fit it behind the front seats. The overall length has also been shortened compared to a classic Beetle and the width has been increased considerably. 1 It has a length of 4 meters (157.5 in) and a weight of only 800 kg (1,764 lb), which would be capable of reaching a maximum speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). 

It also has a disc brake system from a classic 911 (it is not specified which generation), reinforced suspension , as well as 18-inch (45.7 cm) light-alloy wheels, with 225/45 tires on the front axle and 255 on the rear wheels. Some equipment had to be sacrificed in order to keep the weight as low as possible, so it does not have any electronic elements, being limited to the use of a tachometer , speedometer , temperature gauge, oil pressure, and an analog clock.

Due to its excellent reception and the great speculation around it, the company considers producing a short series limited to 20 units at a still unknown price.  Surely there will be 20 people in the world who want one and can afford it, so it will be a matter of time before production begins.
