The Greyhound bus lines retires about 500 buses a year in the United States, and a search for a market for these vehicles has led the company into a joint venture with South Korean and Nigerian businessmen to operate bus services in those countries.
Equipped with 40 reconditioned 1962 PD4104 buses. Greyhound currently serves South Korea's four major cities, Seoul, Taejon, Taegu and Pusan. The cities are all on the 267 mile route of the Seoul‐Pusan Expressway.
The company is one of 12 express‐bus concerns in operation in South Korea. They all serve 13 cities with 475 buses imported from the United States, West Germany and Japan. Korea Greyhound is the only company involving ownership from a foreign interest, as Greyhound in the United States retains 50% ownership in the Korean operation.
