American racing driver Carroll Shelby is known for his strokes of genius, whether in motor racing (Le Mans 1959 or 1966) or for his prepared cars. The story begins with a crazy idea: grafting an American V8 onto a small English car. Shelby partners with an English manufacturer, AC. The Cobra was created in 1962. Several versions followed one another, including the famous 427 which had a 7-liter “Big Block” 427 engine developing 420hp! Only 350 official copies exist in the world, so you surely have a better chance of coming across a copy than a real AC Cobra 427!
